Foireann Teagaisc
Each college is staffed by a Principal, dedicated teachers and Ceannairí. All teachers are qualified under the Department of Education regulations in addition to being fluent Irish speakers. Our system of ceannairí is based, in the main, on a programme of invitations to top students from previous courses to act as ceannairí,leas-ceannairí and tacaí. They assist with games, on the beach and in the houses, and ensure that the group they are responsible for benefits to the full from the course. They carry out another important function helping young students settle down and ensuring that 'Riail na Gaeilge' is kept in all college activities thus helping the students achieve the fluency desired.Múineadh Na Gaeilge
Many of students return year after year and therefore have a high standard of Irish. However, for many, this will be the first time they will experience Irish as a living language. As our highly qualified staff have many years experience in teaching Irish, students will find it easy to adapt.Formal classes are held in the morning. Our classes cater for the beginner right through to Leaving Certificate standard.
In the afternoons students participate in informal activities. The primary aim of these activities is to help the students achieve fluency. 'Riail na Gaeilge' is enforced in an enlightened, constructive and fair way, with the emphasis on reward and incentive for effort.
